在男女相互对话（各一句）结束后，由第三者（或男或女）提问。提问内容并不难，常见的形式也只限于下列五种：a）用What 提问；b)用Where提问；c)用Why
提问；d)用How much 提问；e)用How…提问。因此，考一如能熟悉出题形式，便有可能在Part B中考得较高分。
（1）熟悉各种提问方式的内容
a) 用What 提问
下列6种用What提问的例句，大体能概括用What提问的形式的内容。以“What”提问的句子在Part B中占90%左右。
Voice: Man: When is Jack going to finish writing that program?
Woman: I don't know. He's been working day in and day out.
Man: What does the woman say about Jack?
(A) He's been in the program for several days.
(B) He is working hard on the program.
(C) He works only during the day.
(D) He will probably never finish.
(B) is the correct answer.
b)用Where…提问
下面4个例句中用Where提问的句子，意思和形式虽有所不同，但基本上大同小异，提问的中心是：“对话最可能发生在什么地方？”或“某某打算到什么地方去？”
Voice: Man: Since it's raining so hard,
let's go to see the new exhibits.
Woman: That's a good idea. Marry Cather is my favourite painter.
Man: Where does the conversation probably take place?
(A) Near an art museum.
(B) At a science exhibit.
(C) At a news conference.
(D) Near a paint store.
(A) is the correct answer.
c) 用Why提问
使用Why提问主要用来询问发生某事的原因或理由，不过这种提问形式在近两年的TOEFL考题中已很少出现。下面5个例句是TOEFL听力Part B用Why提问的最常见的形式：
Voice: Woman: I thought Johnson is in hospital today.
I wonder whether his wife is ill.
Man: No, she is fine. His daughter had just had a baby. He is just
visiting her.
Man: Why Johnson was in the hospital?
(A) He is sick.
(B) His wife is sick.
(C) His wife just had a baby.
(D) He was visiting his daughter.
(D) is the correct answer.
d) 用How much提问
这类提问一般与钱有关。这类考题已现不多了。下面4个例句较为常见：
Voice: Woman: This car comes equipped with stereo.
Man: I had to pay an additional $ 260 to install mine.
Man: How much did the woman save in purchasing her car?
(A) $ 260
(B) $ 200
(C) $ 160
(D) Nothing
(A) is the correct answer.
e) 用How提问
使用How提问的考题以下列4种例句较为常见。但在最近二三年的考题中出现频率较低。
Voice: Woman: Julia seems to be a very shy type of person.
Man: Actually, she is not. She acts that way only with strangers.
Man: How well does the woman appear to know Julia?
(A) She is a close friend.
(B) She doesn't know her at all.
(C) She knows only slightly.
(D) Julia is her daughter.
(C) is the correct answer.
